Audition Tips
It’s okay to be nervous! Just about everyone is nervous. Do your best to smile and have a good time. Take a deep breath and slow yourself down - trying to rush through the words will often lead to mistakes!
Research. Find out what you can about the play and the characters. Read a summary of the play before the audition.
Be on time. We want to know that you’re punctual and reliable. A good rule to live by: if you’re 5 minutes early, you’re on time. If you’re “on time,” you’re late.
Be kind to everyone and smile. Remember that your audition is like an interview, and it begins the moment you walk in the door.
Be prepared. If you are asked to present a monologue, prepare your piece well. Memorize your selection and practice it many times.
